Female Condom

The female condom (also known as an internal condom) is a barrier contraceptive that is inserted into the vagina before sexual intercourse - the female condom protects against unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. Female condoms are designed and approved for vaginal intercourse, but people also report using them for anal sex. Although both female and male condoms function as barrier methods, more research is needed to determine how female condoms prevent the transmission of sexually transmitted infections during anal sex.
